You have the option of getting a job too. I love sitting in front of a computer screen 8hrs/day. I think it's a big part of internet marketing is having the drive to complete what needs to be done. Sometimes repetitive tasks can get boring, so outsource. In the end, they're right when they said, "money doesn't buy happiness." When you have it all and you've got it on autopilot, sometimes life's boring. It's all about finding the right balance and living life to the fullest.

Yeah Im gonna get a part time job at my homie tire shop, Just to bullshit. Dont get me wrong I like working in front of the comp, but I am a hyper type individual so I need some interaction to feed off. LOL And Like I said I could Party Anytime but Everyone I know can only party on the weekends lol. So a part time job will do me fine.

Yeah, don't quite have that problem yet, lol. Still working full time labor and IM on the side, at the end of the day. What I wouldn't give for a few hours doing IM. But that the newbie side of the looking glass, I suppose.

LOl I got lucky , I used to work in a warehouse job and we had hours of down time, we had to wait till the Frieght trucks come in, So The faster I get the job done the more rest time I have before the other comes, some people took their time and paced it out so they had stay busy work all day, I just busted ass and then Ill hop on my laptop to IM, IM was my part time job, I Used to just work IM for weekend money So I can party then I starting making more then just pocket money, eventually I got fired and just never needed to go back to the work force.

I see where you're coming from but my philosophy is to work hard now to play hard later.

When I was doing IM full time I made sure that I got out and went for a run. Energized me and it helped me to think problems through. Sitting 8 hours a day in front of a computer screen is a ticket to the hospital.

+1 on that post. I guess it is all about finding that balance between what gets you money and what gives you happiness.

I was a building contractor (self employed) before IM and I ruined my neck and shoulder, back and knee so a deskjob was dream come true but it does have its own problems as well - lots of irradiation from the screen, sore wrist, sciatic if I slouch in the chair, my vision is slipping a bit too

but I will still take this over punching a clock anyday, in fact it's so much better I will never work a 9-5 again.

Plus with IM you are insulated from recessions a bit better since the market is so vast and you can literally go anywhere in the world where there's an internet connection and still keep making money - that's a huge +

Before I went into IM Full time, I worked a full time job at a Call Center, so I was in front of a computer 8-10 hours per day there, then I went home and worked another 6-8 hours every day on the computer at home. So in total I spent 14-18 hours per day, every day, in front of the computer for the last year.

I usually try to take 1 day off per week where I watch sports on TV, so on those days I am only on the computer around 4 hours a day.

I don't miss waking up and having to be at a job at a certain time, day after day. IM is the way to go, no downside for me personally.

Mix it up a bit? Go to new locations to work? Hire and expand?

The answer is to find a balance the things like -

    - what pays your bills and make you money
    - what you love to do
    - good health
    - flexibility

for me IM suits the best, but it might be different for you..

Well, look at it this way..would you rather control your own income, or would you rather work for some as*hole for a fixed salary? :p

I tried working a job at an electronics store for a while...never again.

You should not let work take over your life though. Still spend time with your friends, and party like you said.

Um, I'm not sure why you only work 8 hrs/day
I'm a full time IMer, and live very, very well from it, but I pretty much work 12-14 hrs/day 7 days a week.

Jesus, what do you do for 12-14 hours a day? Do you do most of the work yourself? I'm assuming you don't do a lot of outsourcing?

The only downside from my perspective is getting a bit too addictive. A usual 9-5 job would mean that you are done post 5 or 6PM.

The upside being that full time IM pays the bills, puts the bread on the table + some extra cash to savor the efforts that go in.
