Hi guys

I've been lurking around for a while and decided to launch a service for free for a limited time.

I have a web service that stores, keeps track of and creates your double meta refreshes for you. It's currently free to use, and for you guys I guarantee that it will be free to use until the end of the year. I'll probably extend it to Jan-Feb next year

All that i ask for in return is that you report to me all the bugs and features that you think will come in handy with this web application.

http://doublerefresh.com

So sign up for your free account at double refresh and pm me the username so i can activate it.

Current Features
  • Double Meta Refresh
  • Geo Targetting
  • Encrypted Links
  • Referer Check

So thanks for trying out my service.

Edit: aw snap, i think i placed this in the wrong forum

Hi,

Can you maybe pm me how I can best use your service. Spell it out to me as I am just trying to get up to speed on double meta refresh.

Thanks in advnace

Well in a nutshell, what a double meta refresh should do, from my limited knowledge, is strip out the referrer when visiting a website, so that the website you are visiting does not know where you came from.

So for example, you have some sort of CPA program that pays out $60 per sign up and only the people that search for the key word "Potato Plant" converts. You do not want anyone knowing that because they may steal it, copy your landing page and compete with you on the "Potato Plant" keyword. So you send it through a double meta refresh, clear the referrer, thus clearing the keywords and the affiliate does not know where the user came from. So you keep the competition to a minimum.

It pretty much just hides where you've come from.

Hope that's clear enough.

Hello all,

Just informing you that doublerefresh is out of the alpha stage and into the public beta stage, so if you want to try out the service and missed out earlier here is your opportunity.

There was a slight delay in scheduling so that this service will remain free until at least the end of January.

Like always, all i ask is for you guys to report bugs to me. Try not to break the server.

Woops, Sorry about that folks, had a little issue with user creation. You should be able to create accounts now.

this doesn't seem to be working. the browser keeps refreshing but nothing shows up. I only waited about 30 seconds but I tested it with google.com so it should come up pretty quick.
Am I doing something wrong? Can't figure it out.

:F

Are you using Opera or Chrome by any chance? If you were I forgot to add teh catcher because the referrer doesn't clear properly with Opera or Chrome. Although, I did write a catcher so if a user is using one of these browsers they will be sent to an generic error page.

Has anybody used this service? Has a Mod reviewed it?

Thanks!

Ok, so I just tried this. While using the service, if I type in my url, I can see in my browser window that I am being sent to d*ublerefresh.com and then back to my site.

Isn't this a no-brainer? If my AM were to check my site he would see I am flushing through d*ublerefresh.com, then I have a bunch of f*cked up ?'s to answer?

Lots of people are using this app.

While i'm not sure if a Mod has reviewed my app, this thread was MOVED into this section after I posted it into the wrong section

You could always check by echoing the referrer values in a simple php script in your website.
