I'm using AdWords to promoting Amazon stuff as affiliate. If there is another affiliate exist to promote that product using direct linking, it is any method for me to promote that product using Amazon.com in the "display url" ?

Currently, I'm using a similar domain to "Amazon.com" and using Frame Redirect to promote the products.

Any advice would be greatly appreciate ! :)

I know at least on adwords you're allowed to use "Amazon.com" as the domain as long as that's where the user will ultimately end up. (after a meta refresh or header redirect or whatever.)

Also, I know for Amazon's affiliate program you're allowed to link to their site via adwords campaigns as long as the user did not search for "Amazon" or "Amazon.com" in their search. So, advertising for "cameras" and linking to Amazon's camera section is completely within their rules. (At least last time I explicitly checked.)

i use the adwords-trick where you can display another domain so avoid bidwars... so i get cheap clicks and send these to amazon - works great! i don't know if it's legal with amazon (it's not allowd with adwords actually - but as google finally lost the last peace of moral years ago i really don't mind... maybe they'll close that campaigns someday when they notice someday)

but i see no reason why this is not ok with the amazon guidelines. i habe amazon as negative-keywords and send traffic with a non amazon-domain to them...

what really sucks is the amazon partner interface. the statistics are pure crap - and i'm quite sure they won't change it

The only thing I could see them having problems with is you not displaying their domain to the user. (PR issues on their side.) As long as it's amazon negative keywords there is nothing else I see wrong. They have explicitly told me bounce pages "for monitoring traffic" are completely fine.

    Haha, yeah, competition sucks...

yep competition is really high on amazon... i wasted shitloads of money on testing and overbidding... so i'm quite happy i found that "adwords-bug" here on bhw...

but someday google will find that bug and then i think i have a problem as some of my earnings will disappear...

Yes, I'm able to use Amazon.com in the Display URL. However, if there are other advertiser using the "Amazon.com" too .. I will not be able to run the ads without using alternative domain for the Display URL.

Do you means using frame redirect or meta redirect or something like that ?

    drewz
Yup, currently I'm using redirect page for AdWords.

no. i don't use frames, meta-redirect or whatsoever.

    1) build a fake-landing page. copy the amazon product description in there. the qualityscore has almost nothing to do with with the landing page btw. it's only 10-20% - ctr, adtext, ... are much more important

    2) build your campaign like you would do with amazon.com - but use your domain in the ad and direct the ad to your fake-landing page

    3) start your campaign and wait an few minutes - it will go online

    4) change the links in the keywords! (insert your amazon code with your partner id in there - DON'T chagne the ad - just the keywords!!). then upload the campaign if you used the adwords editor

    5) dance around like a monkey cause you bid on the same keywords like your competitor but you pay less

    oh 2 more things:
    1) forget amazon for the next 2 weeks. my sales are completely down these days... a lot of people just seem to click and search - but they don't buy any more... no idea why. maybe they already have all their presents or they're shopping offline...
    2) i suggest not overusing this bug. one day google finds out and they fix this problem... and we don't want to wake sleeping wolfes... if an account manager takes a look at the accounts (they look at mine quite often as they deactivated ads from my and my clients account several times... this were no automated deactivations... maybe that's just because i'm an adwords professional and i spend several thousands every month on adwords... no idea... maybe it's also different here in germany...)

This is great idea.:) I never ever think about it before ...

I am still doing good with Amazon these day. Although the sales have been decline, the conversion rate still stay at average of 7%. (traffic from organic search, not AdWords)

The bad things is, after I change and edit my AdWords account, it stop driving traffic. Still wondering how to fix that, it's seems undergoing some "review period" by adWords. However, it has been stop driving impression and click (ofcuz .. 0 impressions) for few days.

macmastemike: But the link you change in the"Ad Variations"-Tab, not in the Keywords-Tab, or did I understand you wrong?
