Ey guys, I have a recent penalized domain (thanks G). And I dont know what to do with all the articles in that website.

Do you think it would be good if I delete website and copy all articles in a new domain? Or it will be taken as duplicate content??

Dont have a clue what to do, anyone has experience with this??

    Thanks in advance guys.

Why not fix the problem and get the penalty removed?

I also want to know is there any way at least to reuse the content. It is very unfair of google to just penalize you and erase months if not years of hard work.

It depends on what the penalty is for, if it is just for link building, transferring the content to a new site shouldn't be a problem, just delete the website and make sure it is offline for quite a while. Also don't 301 any of the pages from the old site to the new. Don't want that penalty following you.

Ok thank you guys for answering.

I will try deindexing the site and publishing articles in new domain.

SEO work in this domain was not too hard, so I dont want to loose time by recovering from the penalty, because I dont know how to do it, so i will start in a fresh domain.

    Thanks to everybody

You can reuse the content. Just trash the penalize domain and upload the content to a new domain and start over.

The old penalized domain will be deindexed and your new domain with the old content should be good to go.

I read something I think on SEJ that suggested that the penalty might follow you if you use the same content. Mind you, this is SEJ we are talking about, but if memory serves it was somewhat credible. Might want to look into that.

Yep, I read the same thing from a fairly credible member on WF (Mike Friedman). However, there were just as many credible members who disagreed with him. So I'm not sure what to believe. If it was me, I'd move all the content to a new domain and test it out. I think thats the only way to really find out.

The fact that "penalties follow you" when you move content is complete BS.

Anyone who has actually done it knows it's just Google propaganda.

You are right... so if we just remove the content from old domain and add it in new site.. will this work? or we have to wait for the old domain to get de-indexed completely?

As soon as I take the old site offline I just upload to the new domain. Pretty much the deindexing (old domain) and re-indexing (new domain) will occur more or less simultaneously.

Furthermore it'll take you at least a month or so to start ranking anything anyway with a new domain, so by the time rankings are supposed to come in the old domain should be fully deindexed.

One of my forum websites was penalized for unnatural links. I just changed from the .com to the .org using the same database and file structure. everything is still good 8 months later, am ranking just fine with the same content (and a lot of new content from members posting of course)

i know a few guys who got a few of their websites penalized. Yeah their fault. But Google keep changing the game rule during the game.

But big G went a few steps further, they tried to identify all their other websites and they sent him a bulk penalty as xmas gift although the other websites didnt have spammy links. They tried to relaunch a few of the penalized websites using new domains. But google says websites do not spam, the websites owners do so. So they will keep tracking the owner until they have more important things to do.

if u want to relaunch the content, bring drastic modification to the website layout, a few image change, re-tweak the articles a bit, use a new hosting, dont use same affiliate id in links. Then you can relaunch it.

if the domains penalized were pretty new, better let them die and concentrate on new ones.

SEJ has good articles but they are also Google's voice.

Well, you should buy a new domain and 301 the old penalized domain to the new one. Eventually even the new domain will get penalized but at least you will get rankings back without any effort and cost than paying for the domain for few months.

I think it is safe to use the content on a new domain only when the old content is deindexed. I just think that there should never be two live copies of the same article. I would guess that the later submission would be marked as duplicate. This is something I am interested in hearing more from, however, because I am considering dumping some of my old penalized domains soon.

It would be much more convenient if we could 301 the penalized domain without infecting our new site with a penalty.
