HA...okay, some of you know my age which is old enough to be a father to some of y'all...and then some.
So here's my question: Is the word "chill" even used anymore?
Not as in "whoa dude, chill"
But as in "I'm looking for some chill dude to hang out with tonight"

Answer first and then you can toss any insult bombs my way..no offense will be taken

Sure . . . "Chill", "Just Chillin", "Chill Out" and "Chill Dude!" are still in common use.

My kids have started saying it. Not sure anyone my age says it anymore.

My son told me the other day to just chill out that he will clean his room when he is ready.

LOL we went to the wood shed after that.

I use it every once in a while. I'm only 20. Mostly in the context of "just chillin".

LOL...I knew someone would assume that but if you've read any of my posts you'd know that I don't have the time or patience to bother with CL. But it does sound like a CL ad doesn't it?
No...I'm just brainstorming something in my usual niche.

Oh...and if you were older than 1 year old when freakin' Sputnik was launched, as my "elder" I'll defer. If not....get behind me kiddo...lol

    loclhero,

Yeah, I still hear it around the St.Louis area. Spend a lot of time with the local Hispanic population so, don't hear it much there. But, in general, yeah, it's still used. By the way, I was 11yrs. old when Sputnik launched. I think that was what got me interested in space. Would love to go on Richard Branson's flights to space...but it's out of my budget range. Sorry, I digress. Must be the age thing.

    Regards,

Whisker...oh lord. Let me clarify...I know what it means, I just didnt know if it sounded "real" anymore. I mean "chill" was used as far back as...damn...remember the movie Say Anything? "Chill" was common back then, if I'm trying to create a profile or something in 2010 I just wanted to know if it was still in use and would sound realistic.

Now if I asked if it was okay to refer to myself as "fly".....lol

You can still use that expression once you get older. Like, "I'm getting a chill, where's my quilt?"

Now if you'll excuse me I have to get those pesky kids off my lawn. :D

High school was the usual cleaning tables in coffee shops, college was a theater arts major and did lighting for small theatrical productions but I dropped out. After that, in a nutshell you can read it here where I went off the deep end with a rant at someone who pissed me off:

I was born in 1958. Where does that put me on the ancient test?
