Great stuff, trying to stop file sharing is never going to work, time for the big companies to wake up and find a fair system for distributing music and movies.

i wish they could copy medicine...think of all the lives that would be saved

i don't think they're trying to kill file sharing, they're trying to control it....

    napster's not gone....it was taken over. youtube's not gone...pirate bay's not gone.

they come in, with the law, and take over the most popular, most established site...put a business model on it...and monetize it

Very good video worth watching. I was always under the impression that music artists never really earned that much from record sales the money was always in touring - look at the Rolling Stones

Same thing happened in here, in Bulgaria, a few years ago. One of the biggest Bulgarian torrent trackers, ArenaBG, got an issue from the government.

The owner refused to close shop and the gov stepped up and confiscated his servers.

It was all because the European Union has issued a warning to our country, stating that we have to do something about "piracy" and "internet crime" and our mellow politicians did everything they can to please the big ole 12-star.

Of course, that was only a front, no one really cared, as long as the EU is happy. It was all very publicly done, the owner of the tracker was even thrown in jail (no charges could have been made so they released him a couple of weeks later).

Now everything is back to normal, the tracker is running, the owner is out and there is more piracy than ever before.

And, I didn't know they were starving in Hollywood.
