What does google like more? Anyone out there with domains with some great metrics and backlinks profile can chime in?

Is it better to have domains with clean spam free backlinks and TF and CF of 25 and above

    OR

Have a domain with low, low metrics but a contextual link from Huffington Post, NY Times, etc?

Can anyone attest to results from either type of domain?

You're really asking the wrong question there. What's the purpose? What are you trying to achieve? If you're just trying to rank a domain, the first option would be a preferable as you already have a good base. My view is that you can always buy a link from highly reputable sources like you mentioned later. In fact, I think SkyRocket SEO has access to Huff Post and a few others who have author access to some really strong sites in the marketplace.

I'll have to view the link profiles of both kinds of domains before I can answer your question. In other words, it's impossible to give you a specific answer.

It's a bit of a speculative question but generally more spam-free backlinks from different IP's will be the better choice than the domain with a couple of backlinks from high authority sites.

If the Authority Backlinks is still Live and if you can Make the Domain in same Niche as it linked to Authority Site then It should be Good.. Cause I saw many Times that One Authority Links make Good TF/CF than 10 Normal Links... and if you make some Good Links to that Domains it will increase a Lot more in very less Time...

    Metrics can be easily gamed..

I've seen sites with HI TF/CF but they were spammed badly..

I usually go with sites that have only a few hundred links at most, have a clean anchor profile. Also, failed startup sites make great domains for pbns/etc.

Yes.. High CF/TF and DA/PA doesn't mean a Good Site.. Best Domain is with Less Backlinks with Equal Number of Referring Domains with Clean anchor.. Best..

I'd get them both and use one for PBN and one for money site :)

Go for first option. PBN can be created later.
    Go for 1st option undoubtedly....

Sorry for not providing enough details.

I mean a goo domain with good metrics for instance, 2000 backlinks clean of spam, 40 Referring domains, TF 25 +, CF 25+, DA 30, PA 30

    Or

A domain with 4 links from Huffington Post, NY Times, CNET, Gizmodo, etc.

Which one is more favorable to rank a keyword as a PBN site.

Why not take both as your PBN. Money site wouldn't be a bad idea too.

Well yes, my apologies. There is a money site involved as they would all point to it. I didnt realize you would build a PBN without having a money site. Is there any point to it?
