I want to put the domain on my images to promote my website. Does IG penalize account with domain watermark? or if this is an effective way to promote? I don't want to get ban for having link in my discription

if the images are yours you should be fine, and no you won't be penalized for putting a watermark of your website on your photos.
having a ling in your description wont get you banned unless you have a spam account with blacklisted names.

cant comment on how effective it is though.

It can look really bad and spammy, plus the effectivity is questionable.

Instagram is - or at least should be - about beautiful imagery, you wouldn't want to ruin that with watermarks. If you only operate one account and you don't spam, you won't get banned just because you have the link of your website in the website field where it belongs, or else why would Instagram let you add your link to your profile in the first place?!

If your account is new, don't add the url right away, wait a week or two, just to stay on the safe side.

I would integrate the link in the picture itself. Like a Productplacement. A card or something that contains your Website. If the Pictures are not yours, you have to retouch it. If you need examples for better understanding, send me a pm and a Picture of yours.

    Not a bad idea.
Instagram have no problem in it and they do not have software to scan every image for watermark
