Domain Privacy for free?

I have 2 domains with 1and1.com I wish i had seen this thread, I would have gone to name.com or namecheap, as i have a few domains with both, lately I have been getting tired of godaddy, which is where most of my domains are, but i'm lazy. I guess, I will change them when they come up due.

+1 for avoiding 1and1. Too hard to transfer, cancel, etc.
Try Moniker. Do a few searches on this and a few of the domain forums - you can get a $6.95 account with $1 privacy if you know how to ask correctly.

he i am looking to buy few domains..this guys sounds very cheap..any one have experience with them..are they reliable?

I've got namecheap too. Godaddy was doing a deal where you'd get free privacy with 5 or more domains ordered. You can also fake your info or copy the same info from one domain with privacy to all of them. I'd advice you to at least be able to receive emails from the address in your whois.
I have six domains with them, all have full domain privacy.
and interesting thing is, i have a domain over there... which is right now under conflict with a US based company because of trademark/copyright violation reports and stuff
for over 1month. And till now, they have not taken the domain down or sent me any warning message or more over the domain privacy is still there!!!
I strongly recommend them
also i can recommend Name.com and Namecheap.com
both are very good
