This may/may not be a silly question...but it can also help not only myself but possibly some other people as well...

I have recently changed my business name and would like to use my business name as my domain name (my "www.").... but i would also like to set up an additional domain name using keywords that are specific to my particular niche and point that domain to my business domain. Would search engine see the domain that is keyword specific as being updated frequently and show organically when I am updating my business domain as well? Ir shouldmy keyword specific domain be the primary domain and point my business nam domain at it...(i think that make more sense).

Can anyone shine some light on the situation?

Will depend on your linkbuilding strategy .
What I will do on your place is set a 301 redirect to my business domain , cloak the other domain and link the hell out of it ( Xrumer , Nuke X , Scrapebox ...)

I am somewhat new to the seo world honestly and have been studying everything on the forum and also utilizing some tricks for some domains including scrapebox, xgen, and link partners. I wont ask you how to do the 301 redirect it looks like a bit of code placed for the redirect on the page that i am cloaking correct?

Sorry to pick your brain a bit haha....would you do the redirect from the business domain or from the domain using the keywords? =) lol. feel free to BHW slap me in the face for asking....

no worries man , as long as the questions are constructive :)
The 301 domain will be easier if done from your cpanel , you will find an option '' redirect domains'' and you will need to forward the keywords domain to the business domain so that way anyone who will visit your keywords domain will be redirected to your business domain.
Also you can just do a proper SEO for your business domain and get it on top of google :) and you corner that niche with 2-3 more domains for related keywords .
    cheers
