I have a client who brought up an interesting question which I had no answer for.

Just wondering what you guys think.

Some client has about 4-5 different domain names. They are all forwarding to the "master" domain name.

Is it possible those 4-5 domain names can rank in Google? By rank, I mean, be on page 1 and be competitive.

I was wondering this yesterday! As if so then it will make my job a whole lot easier.

Plus also what redirection would they need?

I'm pretty sure they can.. I have a domain redirecting to my main site, and it shows up in the google with that URL, but with the title and description of the site it is redirected towards. I forget how I have it setup, I'm pretty sure it's a PHP redirect.

It really depends on what you mean by "forwarding' Are the domains parked? Are you using 301's? The exact method is going to determine how Google views those sites.
