I have 2 domain names. I will give you just an example, but close to reality. One is like besttranslationworks.net and the other one is like thebesttranslation.org
Now, I want to set up a translations website, which is already optimised for two keywords - "best translation" and "translation works". Both these two keywords have over 10k exact searches per month (each of them). But "best translation works" keyword has under 100 exact searches per month. On the other hand, "the best translation" keyword, from the second domain name, has around 900 exact searches per month.
The Estibot domain valuation website appraised the first domain around 200 $, while the second domain was appraised for around 2k $.
Now, please tell me what to do. Should I develop both domains, or only one of them, and in this case, which one?

Why don't you use them both ? Do a split test and see which one is providing better traffic ?

How to use both? With the same content? To forward the url from one to the other one? Don't Google penalise that?

You could also send each URL to similar sites, but different. Just remember, don't change too much at once, or you'll never be able to compare your results with your changes.

I'm just saying to try or test both to see which one you would rather use.

You could also, use both (as above) and keep both sites, but link them only where it makes sense. Basically, have one feed the other, then you can continue to keep both going.

    Just some suggestions.

But if I would develop only one of them, which should be my choice?
The first domain has included in the domain name, two keywords, with over 10k exact searches per month, each, but is a bit longer and harder to keep in mind, while the second has only one keyword included, is shorter, easier to remember, and is estimated almost 10 times more expensvive, by Estibot, so both domains have their + and -... What do you suggest?

They both sound like they have their merits, as you said. I would the easier to remember URL if your traffic has to type in your URL to return. The other I would in the case where its just SEO and doesn't require a human to remember it.

Basically, I wouldn't discard the other one. Just find a use for it. Domains aren't that expensive, unless you have another reason for not keeping both.

You can setup two simular websites, but I do them on different servers or with different nameservers and IP's and see which does better and then 301 the other in time.

I bought both - here are the domains: bestwebdesignservices.net and thebestwebdesign.org

Any opinions, now that you can see the real domains...? :p
Is one of them better than the other?

    Home Page:
one of those is going to have less competition. I'd focus on that one.

with the other one, put just enough content so that people that go to it have something to read and click on. then hit it with a bunch of automated links and maybe you'll get lucky and it will rank while you are working on the other site.

If you have SB, some people advice testing urls for auto approve by putting in fake websites. I just put in my sites I'm not working on so if I ever go back to them, they will already have some links to them. as a bonus, some have done better than the sites I wasn't spamming links to.

If I just choose to develop thebestwebdesign.org, and redirect the visitors of the undeveloped domain to the main domain, it would help me in some way, or it will be a waste of time. And the second thing, does Google tolerate such kind of redirections?

Anyone? Should I choose thebestwebdesign.org instead thebestwebdesignservices.net ? I want some straight because I really can't decide by myself... :(
Or should I choose a .com but way longer...such as thebestwebdesignservices.com?

I was thinking that maybe a dot org domain wouldn't be the best choice for a web design studio website. What do you say, guys? bestwebdesignservices.net, thebestwebdesign.org or thebestwebdesignservices.com Which should be the winner?
