    Hi guys,

As always, thanks for the advice! It's almost always spot on!

    Two small questions -

    I have a keyphrase, let's say it's - money advice

I'm lookin for my URL to be an exact match for the domain name but all that I want are taken except .tv and some other regional ones.

Bearing in mind that I'm targeting the UK, how will these rank?

Next, an "SEO expert" who I work with said that I should register moneyadvicemoneyadvice as it'll rank just as good as moneyadvice? I can't see this being the case or everyone would do it?

    Thanks again!

You can add any short suffix to your keyword to arrive at your domain name. In my experience, it is as powerful as the exact match domain. So you can choose a domain name like moneyadvicetalk.co.uk if you are targetting UK.

In my brief experience it tends not to be as powerful as EMD.

I'm looking at my competitors and number 1 has an EMD with about 70 backlinks. Number 2 has short suffix and has nearly 3k backlinks. Number 4 also has a short suffix and around 700 backlinks.

You should be able to register a domain with your keywords by utilising the Google Stop Words - just google it and you will see that there are many words that google will ignore in a domain name - ie moneyadviceinc would be just as good as moneyadvice as google ignore inc as it is a "Stop Word"
I have had a lot of success when selecting domain names and including a word on the list if the exact name is not available in .com .net or .org

    • Thanks Thanks x 2

I thought that google had stopped this a few years ago? I hope I'm mistaken as this would be a godsend for me!
