Hi, and thanks for this great forum !
I am a developper but a real noob in SEO. I am trying to launch several of my apps which are in the same "niche".

As my apps are correlated, I would like to publish tutorials, help, features description etc. on the same sub-domain to rank more easily in this field.

However from a user perspective, I would prefer short and "easy to remember" domains, per app/product. Somethink like (product1_com, product2_com), instead of "mybrand_com/products/product1", "mybrand_com/product/product2" ...

So I have set up redirects: product1_com > 301 -> mybrand_com/products/product1, which should give most of the "juice" to mybrand_com.
Out of curiosity, I have tried windows8_com and found out it was redirected on microsoft_com/fr-fr/windows, so I hope It's a good start.

I hope I am not overcomplicating things here, and would be grateful if some SEO experts could advise me if I am on the right path.

I have been reading a lot about diversifying links with several kind of anchor text: naked anchors, key-word anchors, brand anchors and so on... But in my case I am a little bit confused: should I link build independantly "myproduct1_com", "myproduct2_com" with brand anchors such as "myproduct1", "myproduct2", should I link myproduct1_com with "mybrand" anchor ? Or should I focus on building links on mybrand_com with my_brand? Which domain(s) should I spend my link building effort on ?

Thanks a lot for your feedbacks !
