I am building a link pyramid to my website and I was wondering if the anchor text from second tier, third tier, etc., needs to be that keyword that you are trying to rank for on your money site.

    Ex.
Money Site Keyword- Red tshirt> web 2.o First tier red tshirt> AMR Blast shirt keyword>

This may be confusing. I just want to know if your keywords should correlate, trickle down to money site with the exact anchor text that you want to rank for.

Or is it ok to have similar keyword but not exact. Say having shirt as the keyword used to blast web 2.o sites amr etc, when red t shirt is the keyword you want to rank for. Phewww :)

Thank you. So do you think it matters what your third tier structure keywords linking to your second tier structure are?

Yeah it definitely does, you want to treat every site like a money site in that sense. To pass maximum amount of link juice to your money sites g$$gle needs to know that they are closely relevant to the keywords you're going after. Just use variety that I mentioned so it's not easily detectable as a bunch of linkwheels. :D
