This is only because of security issues on mtgox.

If you go to btc-e, they're still holding at roughly $600 I believe.

Yeah, there's some withdrawal issue at Mt. Gox and everyone is staying away from it. It's at $250 at the time of this post but around $610 average. I use Preev, it takes the average of BitStamp, BTC-E and LocalBitcoins. It used to include Mt. Gox in that average but took it out the day it encountered the security issues. And that's a lot of XDG you got there!

Will be interesting what happens to the market if/when mtgox updates or allows people to actually get there money out.

I'm basically done with dogecoin. The 1.5 rollout was a fiasco, there was no reason for the 1.4 fork, the lead developer has made and will probably continue to make terrible decisions, everything based on the bitcoin codebase is terminally ill, the dogecoin "community" is now represented by idiot-kings who don't understand the technology or markets, and I don't trust any of the exchanges at all.

In terms of speculation, particularly in light of all the hoops you have to jump through to turn real money into cryptos, you're better off playing with real derivatives written against real markets on real, audited trading platforms instead of assuming the crypto "exchanges" that haven't pulled a MtGox or GBL yet aren't in the business of pissing on your leg and saying "it's raining, we're investigating it" on Twitter.

The 1.5 rollout was fine, the pools who didn't update from 1.4 were to blame. Yes there was a reason for the fork, the 1.4 client couldn't deal with the large transactions, a problem which was quickly fixed on 1.5.2. Vault of Satoshi is a legitimate exchange, they seem very professional, and you probably know about MtGox so if you don't trust the DOGE exchanges the Bitcoin ones are even worse.

Real "audited" exchanges like the ones where half a dozen banks openly manipulate prices and are too big to fail or be punished? The "real" exchanges that pulled the 2008 heist against world markets and which has seen nobody go to jail to this day? Yeah, I'm sticking with DOGE, the more negative opinions I see, the more DOGE I buy. When DOGE hits $0.01 those who didn't buy today will seriously regret it. Just my 2 cents.

Dogecoin has a good community, but it's not an innovative altcoin and started as a joke. The initial hype died out, and I don't see anything around the corner. People are pulling out.

I'm into vertcoin, mintcoin, nxt, and huntercoin right now.

I missed the most recent dip...damn! Wired another 10k in during it but it didn't hit my account until yesterday. Now looking for a good entry point. Although I think the current price is pretty good, I'm looking for those last few panic sellers to drop the price down a little more and then I'll swoop in :)

Actually come to think of it, I'm in a pretty good leveraging position right now. If the price increases I start profiting from Doge already acquired. If it dips then I have money in my trading account ready to go now. It sucks not having funds inside the exchange and trying to buy on the dip since it takes a couple days to get to you, just like what happened to me during the last one.
