Ok dude.

You can listen or not, on the web a couple of years is a long time, dude.

So by generations dude. I'm talking about new generations dude, who never experienced this before dude.

The underlying business model dude of egold dude and bitcoin dude are the same dude, the crypto is used to prevent the lack of underlying assets from undermining the currency.

Worked a treat dude.

Ignore me dude, I knew I shouldn't have said anything dude, because it's like worshiping Satan dude in the central isle of st Paul's cathedral on a Sunday morning dude.
He said 'dude' ONCE. You don't have to be such a bloody asshole about it.

I'm not sure how many of you remember the last e-currency trend, prior to bitcoin et al.

It was called e-gold it was traded on exchanges and had underlying asset value.

The major exchange lost liquidity, and the currency never recovered.

The last time I checked people had cut their losses as no one was going to buy.

I have stayed pretty quiet, about all these coins, even when some have predicted the downfall of paper currency, and bitcoin will change the world.

Those of us that are old enough have seen all of the internet cycles, and have seen them repeat the same mistakes as every new generation comes into it, except each time more and more money is getting won and lost.

The long term winners have all been stable business plans that would work with or without the web, it's just that the web creates scalability and access, thus rapid growth.

By all means be the little guy who might strike big on a buy out, but we have seen, colossal sums for empty vessels before, so don't bet the house.

As with bitcoins, if you have some money to spare and want a gamble, do what you feel, but when the music stops, don't be the one with your mother's pension tied up in zero's and one's.

P.s. coincidentally my autocorrect keeps changing bitcoin to buffoon.

Sage advice here...luv the PS

I wish I bought more during this dip. It's already on it's way up. I might just sell it for some short term profits. Best time to earn is when the sheeps are all jumping off the bridge together :)

I just take crypto currency for odd jobs. If it is ever worth anything I'll have something. Passed on about a hundred bitcoins in the early days because I couldn't get the concept.

Not missing that boat if it comes again.

But I am not spending cash.

yep mtgox is going bankrupt causing ALL coins to drop. we are going to see some new lows over the next few weeks while this stuff clears then expect ALL coins to rise to the moon wow such doge such wow to the moon investing is all about patience

I believe the Mt.Gox insolvency was already factored in to the current price and is a reason as to why the current prices are dropping like a rock. It's not like their insolvency came out of the blue, it was already an issue for awhile now.

So far, I believe the dogecoin price drops were due to:
- The fork issue, which I believe has been resolved
- Temporary Cryptsy freeze
- Mt.Gox insolvency

I believe this should be similar to the price rise that was seen during the halvening. For the week leading up to the halvening, the prices have been climbing higher and higher, since many people assumed the prices were just going to skyrocket once it began. However, since it didn't, the excitement wore down and the prices started to lower and eventually stabilize. Then, it dipped further because of the issues mentioned above.

While many people started to dump their coins because of "omg, everything is failing", I just decided to keep purchasing them on the down curve, over the last few days to get the dollar average. I didn't really want to risk waiting until it hits the "bottom" since dogecoins are highly volatile and the huge dips don't last very long. I suppose if I had the time to sit at my computer and wait for these huge dips, I would probably have done that but I have classes so I'd rather just buy a few at a time throughout the day/week. I'm only going to get around 300K total though, so nothing too much that I'm willing to risk losing.

I'm pretty sure once all the issues above smooth over, the dogecoin prices should rise back. The community is still growing and it seems more people are pushing to get businesses to accept the coin. It's just cheap right now because of everybody panic dumping and causing a huge influx in the supply. Once the whole panic dump wears off, the demand should far exceed the supply and the prices will rise.

Or at least this is just what I think, I can't really explain it so clearly but it makes sense in my head :P

All the coins are connected to bitcoin, that's the reason why prices are dropping.
