Do any of your banks have a card that is a mix between a cc and an eftpos card? Its like a credit card but you use money that you HAVE that is in your bank account. Only one of our banks, westpac, have this card if im not mistaken, is this kind of card common overseas? cos if i had this option when i got a credit card i would have never gotten a credit card. 20% interest is fricken stupid. Oh yeah and the card im talking about is part visa, it works wherever visa is accepted.

There called debit cards or check cards dude.. there nothing special.

I imagine most banks globally offer them.. They just act like ATM cards that you can use in stores as well.

its the card you can withdraw money from your acc from the ATM...but you can also pay with it at the store.

In the states i had one which also was a visa card...but here in germany its not a visa card...it works only at the ATM and in stores, more like a check-card.

debit card!

you can also get paypal ones and stuff so if you have money in your pay pal, you can use it etc.

may be worth looking up if you need a card soonish!
