Does this still count as unique?

Hey guys
So basically I have 2 wordpress installations in the same domain
domainname.com/home
domainname.com/reviews

Basically the first site is just a pure amazon affiliate ecommerce store and it has a section linked to the second site.
This link is basically a redirect so if the visitor clicks "reviews" they will be redirected to the second site.
The second site has 95% unique content.

Since this is on 2 separate installations of wordpress, does Google only count the second site as unique or does it also include the first site?
Like does google count uniqueness under just the main domain or based on the separate installations?
Also will the 2 sites rank the same or one higher than the other?

Thanks.

lpsierra, if I understand you correctly, you redirect from one installation to the other. If this redirect is such that one site will never be actually seen, the site basically does not count. If you just link to the other one, of course, unique content is unique content.

Different installations do not matter in any case.

This counts as one site, you can have two or more WP or even other platforms installed. However, if you are using subdomains, then they count as separate sites (according to most webmasters) - eg
rabbit.domainname.com and cat.domainname.com will be counted as two different sites by Google
