does this mean im indexed?

I created a blog two days ago (9-1-09) and Added about 5 unique articles all related to my niche, and posted a few posts on the myspace forums. and i searched my blog in google and my blog came up along with all the posts i made.

NOW--My content can be unique and updated daily, and my keywords are good..AND I can get many backlinks... based on theory..does this mean i should rank high for my keywords?

No. There are tons of variables that decide what ranking you get

I thought it was basically backlinks and traffic?

Hi, in theory your website will obviously get higher rankings then those sites without good links etc.

But there are other variables such as the quality (Not amount) of incoming links as well as factors such as you linking to what is known as "Bad neighborhoods"
