    Hello
I have a web page that is ranked in the first page of Google.
Recently I decided to added some affiliate links to the same page (in total around 20 links)
The page has good value content but because its about movies i had to add around 20 affiliate links all related to movies at the bottom of the page
Do you think having 20 affiliate link in 1 page might affect my SEO?

Be totally honest here with your reply.

If you searched and came across a website and found the front page had 20 affiliate links on there what would your first impression be ?

    A) Top quality site ?

    B) Spammy crap ?

Google has said for the past few years they're trying to make sites great for the reader and not just thin content sites, one of the reasons why they did the above / below the fold improvements etc.

Having too many affiliate links will affect your SEO. It’s good to have 100’s of links on your site if you have 100’s of pages. Suppose, if the affiliate links are spammy, then there may be a chance for getting penalized by Google.

Google always love the quality content. So, if a page that has too many links is almost like a page that tries to stuff too many keywords into a particular blog post or static page within a website.

Think of yourself as you are reading your website for the first time with too many affiliate links. Would you want to continue reading or searching through the site?

If you say no, you have a good idea as to why your site is not doing well. It is not that you are using affiliate links, it is that you are using too many of them. As a general rule, it is best to limit yourself to 4 or 5 links per page.

I have read that, too many affiliate links on one page can get you penalized, 500 words per link could be a good guideline or more words if you want more safety, though, I HAVE seen some pages ranked even with tons aff links, it may drop very soon? Or no idea.
