Does submitting to RSS dirs actually work at all?

    The way i see it, you submit a feed with 10s of links to obscure RSS dirs, with thousands of other feeds. And it's supposed from all the feeds on that site, and all the links in each of them, to pass enough PR to each link to get it indexed?
    And the rss directory site doesn't have much of a PR to start with.

    Does it actually works at all? If someone has did case study on indexing links wiht just this alone, would you point me to it?

    google is always fighting spam, we all have noticed that since couple of months RSS directroies are not as effective as they used to be
