Does profile backlinks need backlinks to them? Or is it just a volume game?
Generally speaking, no. They serve with the purpose of giving a backlink to your main site(s). But, I would add that it depends where you have it
And also if the profile was created as part of a "mini-net." It might be part of the strategy to build backlinks to this profile so it can pass
some more "value" when it's pointing to your money site. Other thing is if you are having a little of interaction with the other members of the supposed site.
In this case you may have some content there you would like to link to. Once again to pass the "strength" and "value" to the site it's pointing to.
For the most part it is just a volume game. Now you can bookmark your backlinks or create an rss feed with them to try and get them indexed but as far as really backlinking profile links to make them stronger you are better off spending your time doing something else. The main reason is that any profile can be deleted at any time so it really makes no sense to backlink them.
Most of the time, no. However, it never hurts.
A quick and easy way to get them backlinks and help them get noticed by Google is to create an RSS feed from them and submit that RSS feed to the top RSS aggregation sites.
Agreed ^^ just keep making them and move on. They will eventually get indexed and count for something.
Yeah the program I have does that already
