Sorry if this is a question that I should know the answer to. But I am quiet a noob at this.
Also sorry if there is another thread on this, I just haven't found it yet.

Anyways, I know that Organic search engine optimization would have lasting influences on your site, pr, SERP because the back-links and articles submitted will still be there on the internet boosting you site over a long period of time.

What about paid advertisement. I know it will get me traffic but after the traffic has come and gone, are there then lasting, maybe, beneficial addends to your site's overall being in the long run. So for example/hypothetically speaking, let's say I did manual SEO for a site really well and gave it a PR2. I also increased the SERP. Now I decide to pay for traffic using PPC Google Adwords. I pay for a lot of traffic and it comes and goes and I get conversions. Ok. Does my PR increase because of PPC? Does my SERP increase because of PPC? Is PPC only used to get traffic for the purpose of conversions?

Thank you for your answers before hand

Only if the traffic who you pay for find your content interesting and link to your site. Otherwise, no.

Thank You.:) You have cleared things up for me.

I have been thinking that it did.

So my take from this besides your answer is that SEO is more important if you want to create a residual income. Am I correct in saying that?

Yes, you're correct. But, keep in mind that paid traffic (adwords) is supposed to earn more than you invest, so it's still a great option.

SEO is always important and effective for long-term, relevant traffic. Of course, that's if you did it the right way for your website. On the other hand, PPC (SEM) will bring you traffic usually only for as long as you pay for it. So in the long run, SEO is not only more important but also cost-effective.

Your rankings depend a geat deal on how the people who visit your site act when they get there.

The source of the traffic is irrelevant.

You should use PPC to find the traffic keywords in your niche, then build and do SEO for these keywords.

Obviously, PPC pay you benefits with the above stuffs.. But not so effective... Simple in words, As PPC brings you traffic, you must be capable of maintaining the incomers not to go out...
Organic results stands great than PPC, if your target was to PR, SERP...
