I read in an article claiming that one PR3 link would be equivalent to thousands of PR0-1 links..

    Is this really realistic?
If you blasted one site with 100k PR0-1 links and another with 200 PR3 links would you really get the same boost?

    the short answer is no.
link juice is not only determined by pr. it is only a small factor.

I think it's more about the traffic going through the link that gives the link its power personally. Not the PR.

But most of the time high traffic pages have a high PR.

And PR is divided by the number of comments. Here you'll see everyone practically DDOS a site trying to get their links on AA blogs but at the end of the day it's the total number of links that divides the PR rank so whether you're first or last doesn't make a bit of difference. And if the page has a PR3 and has over 50 links it's worthless anyways; everyone gets a drop of link juice if that. Number of OBLs should always be considered when measuring a PR page for links. Everyone sells high PR AA lists but most pages have more than 1000 comments. Totally worthless but if someone is willing to pay money for them then sell away.

My experience is 200 PR3 sites = fantastic juice. I'd much rather have the PR3 links.

But thats conditional. There are other factors too, particularly outgoing links.

What if they each had 1 OBL? (the 100k vs 200)

Doesn't work that way, and never believe every thing you read, too. That is a piece of advice I found that worked for me the hard way.

I wouldn't say it's too far off, especially since after Google devalued forum posts and blog posts, I think that had a lot to do with making PR0 pages even less valuable.
