What is yahoo again 1/10 the traffic of G or even worse?

I have had trickles before and the ctr is good from them also the rankings are really solid, ive just never focused on them.

Ppl used to say that yahoo takes years to rank but im noticing im getting hits from yahoo while google still isnt giving me front page succes.

I have a site where kw is on page 2 on G but its on page 1 on yahoo for some random longtails.

Im thinking with all the crap with G these days and since it seems to take aroudn the same amount of time I may have a mind to continue sites that arent going anywhere in G with the hopes of getting something from yahoo.

    Thoughts?

Use Yahoo's search suggestions to see what related keywords to your main ones people are searching for and optimize for all of them. The more keywords that you rank high on yahoo, the better your chances of being able to live without depending upon Google.

I just read a post by huff post that yahoo beat google one month and has never been far behind. I dont buy that tho, anyone shed more light? Sounds like skewing of statistics to make a story.

Well the stats are pretty clear: Google has around 67% of market share, and Yahoo/Bing about half of that. But the demographics are different, so the keyword search volume on Yahoo is not necessarily 50% of Google's.
