I don't build links that consistently. Usually I would build 1 PBN link every 1-2 weeks. I've noticed that my rankings have decreased from page 2-3 to now in page 6-8 range. I'm guessing this is because I haven't built a link in 1 week+.

Does this mean that the strength of my links de values as time goes on? Let's say I built 2 links right now, will those links bring me back to my previous page 2-3 rankings or would they boost me over that point? It seems kind of silly to have to build new links to get back to where I was before.

You need links on good sites if websites you link build on drop authority or are not being updated then sure they will lose power.

Link strength doesn't devalue, unless you're referring to the PBN links dropping off of the home page. You should be following a better link building strategy though, as 1 link every week or two isn't enough to get you anywhere fast.

It depends on the size of your website and the niche you’re in.

You've made 500 posts here and you're still asking questions like this?

Stop building only 1 PBN link per week (do more) and diversify your links...

Velocity does matter. You will see better rankings when you consistently build backlinks. Means every 2nd day one pbn link. Every day 1-2 web 2.0. Do this for 2-3 weeks and you will see the effect.

I keep my link building fairly random, usually I'll tweak up a page as much as I can with on page SEO and then build a link or 2 for some boosting... also, Google doesn't index all your links at the same time, so even if you did build a handful of links in a day then it most likely still won't be that suspicious. Thats not to say ridiculous amounts of links won't set off some red flags, just keep it in a realistic range and you'll be fine.

2-3 links per week when a site is new. You can increase velocity as the site ages to some degree. Think...what would look natural.
