I have most of my sites hosted in South America, does that actually affect my ranking if my websites promote content for the US for example?
Interesting question cause I see local results most of the time when I google content.
    Thanks

It is always better to be hosted in the country that you wish to rank for (if you want to rank well in the UK, then ideally your site should be hosted in the UK). That's not to say that you won't do well in rankings, it just means that the search engines tend to equate relevance (to some degree) to sites hosted in that specific country.

Yes, if you wanna rank it in local search engine. For instance, if you have a website and you want to promote it in google.ca then ideally you should host in on a server in Canada, and also your domain should be .ca. So if you want to promote a website in the US or google.com then it should be a .com and you should host it in the US.
