Suppose I download an app and then I uninstall it, will the total download count go down on the play store?

Would highly appreciate the help, thanks :)

If you mean on the public front of the store, then the answer is no. Those are total installs, not active installs.

total download does not go down, but keep in mind - uninstalls affect your ranking

Uninstall rate is usual especially with incentive downloads. Uninstall rate does have slight affect ranking in longer run however installation rate is the *biggest* factor that affect the rank.

There are few factors influence the Total downloads. I would not worry about it too much.
