My Google + Local business listing was in the 7-pack earlier this week and it sunk down four spots today (no longer 7-pack).
I am getting no calls now.

Is there a Google + Local dance?

I've seen some shifts in search since yesterday. There's always a dance, but we're still seeing aftershocks from last week's big update.

Short answer is yes. Longer answer is that the phrase "Google Dance" used to mean something very specific relating to organic searches years ago, so you might get a purist to post and say "No, no Google Dance" even though for your purposes they are the same thing.

I prefer to think of it as "testing". I think G puts lower-ranked businesses into the top 3 in order to do a comparison of their bounce rates. If the #8 listing has a lower bounce rate than the #3 listing, that says something about what the Users think about Google's Local Search results, and G is going to adapt and deliver the best possible User Experience.
