I was making a small income of about $50 per day with Clickbank review articles. Almost all of them were titled "Some Product Review-SCAM! Don't Waste Your Money"

After the update my earnings dropped to almost nothing. I had a website on the first page of Google for the keyword "some product review" and the title had the word scam in it, now the website is on page 20 somewhere.

I realized that almost all articles with the word scam in the title are eventually trying to sell them (usually a product they are reviewing).

I spent 10 minutes doing Google searches for random clickbank products, just searching for "some product review". Results with the word "scam" in it are almost never on the front page.

EzineArticles no longer allows the word "scam" in the titles of their submissions.

Am I just paranoid or does Google hate that word?

It´s hard to know that out of experience but if i had to bet i definitly would bet that words like "Scam" are hurting.

But I can´t imagine that they are hurting so significant that you loose ranking because of them!

Try to copy the vocabulary of big companys and newspapers.

Also ezine has probably a very good SEO team, this company makes million of dollars nearly out of SEO. So thanks for the info, i won´t use this word anymore :)

Sounds like google doesn't like your site. Are other sites still ranking for phrases with scam, or does nothing show up in google?

i believe CB has in T&C a rule you will not use a negative campaign, such as "Is product X a SCAM?"

I ranked number 1 with almost 0 SEO for "Product X scam" without having scam on page or title or description.

Did you talk about scams in your content?

Only had one website. The rest were just articles. I can't say that my deranking is totally due to that word though. I was on the first page but I dropped after I bought a link blast.

Any example articles you could show me? I really need to get my income going again.
