I know its a one off software price, but does it still rely on their external servers or do you just run it from your local hardware.

Aka - Could it be shut down like MP?

Its a rather expensive entry price for what is just a hobby of mine running social media pages.

It might check the license and stuff on FL servers. I don't think it'll run if FL servers are taken down.

Correct. Before the previous updates, if the licensing server is down, and you restart the program, it won't run.
But, if you have it running, and the licensing server goes down, the program will keep running until it's time to check the license again. I don't know if that is 1 week or 2 weeks or what?

With the way that its going all the bots that rely on web services could be on the way down, it at least seems instagram is going that way.

I don't know how the API works for instagram, but its possible they could restrict that access for certain applications too.

I'm also looking for alternative to massplanner.
Followliker looks like a good option, but next big dog is followliker. And instagram must have its eyes to bring it down.
Anyway, regarding the license check servers. You might be able to test it.
Open "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" file on notepad as Administrator. (You can do this with Win + X open cmd as Admin and run notepad from there)
    And try adding
    127.0.0.1 followliker.com
    127.0.0.1 www.followliker.com

Note: I don't have followliker, nor do i know what connections followliker does to check the license. It might even do direct IP connection. You might need to use TCPView to check it.

Honestly, relying on an external server isn't the thing you need to be worried about. The real issue is updates. Even if FollowLiker didn't rely on a licensing server, the second the social media site changes something, the software will be borked. All they have to do is get the developer to stop developing, time will take care of the rest (or an intentional change to the one of the site forms).

You can easily crack the license server, but if FL stop making updates the bot will stop working when IG update their apis

Its not easy to crack license server, they protect it with multiple step encryption.

They're only gonna keep the things that make money. Likes / unlikes, follows and such will probably be disabled. Why would there be an API for likes if they don't want those automated? So hot chicks posing in paid postings with lose weight milkshakes can add a stupid button to their site?
