I was watching a ww2 video and then i looked down at the comments (big mistake) and someone said Nazi Germany tried to bring peace 3 times but the UK refused (in other words they're saying Germany didn't want to invade Europe) and then he said Germany invaded Poland because they were killing Germans?? and another person said Russia only won because Germany ran out of ammo? Is it that different countries just teach their people propaganda in order to make other countries look like villains and themselves look like heroes?

Some countries have a very low level of education. So most of the comments you see are probably made up by teens. A bit like Chinese whispers.

So you were watching this on TV or this was being told in a classroom environment? The producer of this educational video would haven't been the Third Reich would it?

I wasn't watching it for a history lesson i was just bored and started searching random war videos. But once i saw the misleading information being given by uneducated people it made me think about the education system in different countries.

As someone from germany I really have to step in and say that: The german history, especially considering the holocaust and WW2 is a big topic in every school in the country and education about the topic is on a really high priority level. Nationalism is never displayed in a positive light in schools and all kind of nazi propaganda used for non-educational means is illegal.

Like every country there are idiots living in Germany. Political radicalism happens everywhere around the world but radical nationalism is frowned up upon by nearly all of the people living in Germany. Germany is multicultural!

The problem with people who comment on Youtube videos is they havent seen much of the education system either.

Of course every country's history education mostly doesn't involve all the bad stuff that their country did in war. It is completely understandable that Germans won't teach their kids that they were complete bad guys in WW2, of course Japanese kids won't be taught about Rape of Nanking, of course USA kids won't be taught that what they did to Hiroshima and Nagasaki was one of the worse things in war and so on...

Well you are wrong. German history education involves exactly that.
I know more about WW2 and the bad things germany did than most of you probably.
German kids learn that Germany were the bad guys.

The german lessons are all about reading exile literature or holocaust survivor letters.
The politics are extremly anti-war and critical.
In english lessons you read speeches from Churchill or other influential polticians.
Speeches from Hitler are also displayed a lot and get analysed and manupilation gets pointed out on every chance.
History lessons are the majority of the time about WW1 and WW2. You learn how Hitler slowly took control of the german goverment.
Holocaust is present all the time aswell and all the wars get analysed from both sides and the motives are explained in a critical manner.

Please know what you are talking about before you post something.

Makes me wonder what it is about Germans that requires such continued suppression of free speech. Is it genetic? Are other political parties, philosophies illegal? Is anyone really concerned that someday the Germans might start goose-stepping and start WW3? Seems pretty far fetched to me, but I wonder if maybe, 50 years later that is a dynamic still in play.

Also I wonder if the continued suppression of thought & speech doesn't create it's own consequences; in real terms creating Nazis where none would have otherwise existed. For myself, I think they are ridiculous. I watch the Reality "prison" shows and these white supremacists/aryans/nazis start talking about "defending the white race" and "racial purity" etc... and it makes me just laugh, because if in the event that there would be some sudden Nazi rise to power, these tattooed and imprisoned retards would be the 1st to go. Above all else, Germans love order, and convicted criminals that presume to represent an entire race are the exact opposite of that.
