If I was to create a site that is the exact same as my other site what will happen to the new site I created will google sandbox me instantly or? If I get enough backlinks to it will it be good?

If you have more than 60% of dupe contents, it does matter. At least, I got this experience, bad move.

2nd site will not get sandboxed. It just simply will not show up as google only indexes the first site.

Here it is - I had a website pulling 30,000 uniques per day. It was duplicate content celebrity news from other sites.

There was no suspicious backlink activity.

Suddenly one day, it got completely nuked out of the results.

So I'm wondering what's gone wrong, and try this little trick.

I search for my keywords, and add "&filter=0" to the search url in the address bar.

    What do you know?

My site came up number 1.

The &filter=0 command provides some evidence that there is some form of dupe content penalty.

I do concede that ti is possible to rank for short - medium periods with duplicate content - after all, I was doing so for several months.

However, beware - it's fully possible that you will get busted for using dupe content in the end, on long term projects.

Just watched a Howie Schwartz seminar on video, and he was saying that in his link wheels he uses the exact same content for all his web2.0 sites for a product (he was talking about a handbag website in this example). Now you can think about him what you want, looks to me like he knows his stuff.

Dupe content is a myth invented by google itself. The true dupe content penalty is same content on one domain. this happens a lot on blogs as you can have duplicate content on your blog via main page and description or article source on your blog as well.

It is a myth I know this for a fact it is all about SEO itself. I have a youtube blog that only pulled videos from youtube with descriptions rank above the actual youtube site itself. I have had a complete wiki rank above wiki as well in some keywords. I have had a network of 100 autoblogs rank well above the article source.

There are some tricks to keep sites from getting sandboxed which is another reason why the myth still persist.

    1. Do not add content too fast.
    2. Do not build backlinks too fast.

If you do either of these you will more then likely be sandboxed and you will be another idiot saying OMGZ I gotz dupe content penalty!!!

I totally agree with Smeltzer : velocity is something you should really care of.
