The complexity of reading level of the last 3-4 articles have been ranging from 28-30% consistently.
Should I try to rephrase my article in a more easier to read manner (I read the articles from a visitor's pov and I don't find it difficult to read or comprehend despite the rating by my text editor) ?

How exactly does google treat such articles with seemingly difficult comprehension? Does it appear to google as more informative than my competitor?

No one knows exactly how Google works. I would suggest you go through the websites of your competitors and compare the complexity of their articles. Keep in mind that some niches are more complex than others.

I use https://hemingwayapp.com/ to make sure that my content is readable.

I'm talking about grade six or lower.

While word choice outside of keyword-targeting doesn't have a direct impact on SEO, you best believe that user behavior or user experience does.

This is where readability comes in.

If your content looks and reads like a physics professor wrote it to his brightest students, you're gonna have a problem.

People wouldn't know what they're reading and then they would feel dumb and whatever the case may be, they would click the back button.

If enough of your visitors do that, Google's ranking of your user experience will go down and pretty soon, the ranking of your page will also go down.

That's how complicated writing can trip up your organic traffic from Google.

Keep things simple.

There are many ways to say the same idea.

Stick with the simplest.

Yep it turns out I was over panicking about trivial things. I published around 30 articles. All got indexed and around 5 are in the top for it's ZSV keyword.
