I have been browsing around to know if changing domain TDL can have an impact on SEO. But I am having a hard time finding information on the TLD specifically.
Do you mean changing like .com to .de, in an already ranking site? It can have impact on your SEO, if you do it wrong. I will always recommend cctld if you can.
If you do it right, it will have basically 0 impact. Ive done it, and didnt lose rankings - actually gained.
Sadly, only .info is the only TLD that actually has an impact on your rankings.
This is a tragic situation because .info started out with a lot of promise.
But since the initial registrars of that TLD were basically giving it away close to free, spammers got a hold of it, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Other than that, you shouldn't really have any problems with TLD.
I suggest that if you are offering services, there are TLDs that are specific to certain services.
Try to look at your TLD as a descriptive mechanism.
It may not have an impact on SEO, but it can have a positive impact on your brand perception.
