If I build links to my inner pages, will my homepage have a bit more authority in terms of ranking?
I have bought a bunch of trusted links to my inner pages. Can you believe that? I did and it cost me a few hundred dollars for each link. The inner pages were not even making money and did not even have the potential to make money. But i just wanted to give signals to the google bot that my site gets links from trusted sites.
After panda, my traffic has doubled. So yes, it is such a good way to build links to inner pages. Especially getting links from trusted sites will do a lot of good to your site as the links age. Also look up co-citation if you have time.
It is a very good idea to build backlinks to the inner pages of your website. If you have your site links set up correctly and you have linked to your home page with all of your other pages then you will be passing link juice from your inner pages to your home page.
It also looks much more organic if you have backlinks to your inner pages on your website and not just the home page.
When we talk about Google ----> all df links pass juice from the inner pages to the the first or main page. How much or how little juice is passed on only Google knows!
I was wondering this, but surely if you got a load of really good quality links to say a Contact Us page Google would figure out what you are doing? Because you wouldn't ever get them links to a page with just contact form and stuff.
Yes it is but more make sure you have relevent pages to build links to. e.g. if you have a blog you can build a few links to some articles in this. Or if you are selling many services you can build links to your inner sales pages
