    Hi guys.
There are couples of pages on my websites which have up to 500 comments and they take pretty long time to load, so I've just decided to break comments in page, 50 comments each page.
My question is "Does breaking comments into pages hurt ranking?" Because basically It changes/removes the contents on those pages.
I am so sorry If this is an old question.
    Thank you very much!

Page load time does influence rankings.

    Thank you very much bartosimpsonio!
By I am thinking about after breaking those comments, a part of the contents on those pages will be lost. Assume that it doesn't change the load time, we just focus on the content, does it hurt the ranking?

You could add a button so the readers load the comments themselves. That way the page is loaded 100% without the comments, and only those interested in the comments get to read them(which does not count in page load time). Other than for the social signals(comments generating buzz), comments serve no purpose for SEO, on the contrary, inflammatory and low level comments would be considered terrible content.

You have a source that indicates that onsite comments provide 0 SEO value?

And I would use Disqus for comments, solves all your problems.

    Hi MicrosoftPoints,
As what I see, If you use the official Disqus plugin, your web page still loads all comments. Just view the source then you can see that!

I believe there is a plugin for manual loading of comments!

Yeah I am using Disqus buddy.
Let's assume that my page has 500 comments and Disqus just loads top 10 comments.
But when I view the source, you can see that it loads all those 500 comments, not just 10 comments from Disqus.

When I copy the comment #1000 (the oldest one) and then paste it on Google, I can see my page.

Instead of breaking comments on pagination, Do them as "Read More " or "See more" comments by using AJAX function. You surely will find script that will break comments by using AJAX.
