    Hi all,

Am thinking of buying a cheap .info domain name (with the appropriate keywords etc) and using that to host an iFramed page of an affiliate link... Am wondering does this work for anyone that is currently doing this (in terms of getting conversions etc) ?

If I do decide to use this idea, is their any Javascript or something that will prevent the iFramed page's url (in this case, an affiliate link) from showing in the status area (in FireFox, on the bottom left)?

I have tried iFraming an affiliate link on an unused domain name of mine and when I visit the url I can see my affiliate link in the status bar. I then used bit.ly to try hide it but that doesn't work... It would be good to stop anything showing permanently, no matter what browser a visitor may be visiting the url from...

Are you talking about iframing offers to display your own offer page around the join form, or just showing the offer page in an iframe?

The problem with iframing is that unless you use a huge iframe, the content display will show a shitty scrollbar inside the iframe on your second and subsequent pages. Looks like crap and will lower your conversion ratios through the advertiser's conversion chain, thus resulting in lower quality traffic sent to the advertiser.

Yeah I was thinking of showing the offer page in an iFrame... I have tried this before with the iFrame dimensions being set at 100% and the scrollbars etc for the iFrame itself being hidden. Well that worked onFirefox anyway... But if you know what you're talking about I probably would be best to try another idea.

Ages ago I tried this with a hosting affiliate program and had moderate success, but figured I would have more success if I had enough $$$$ to get into reseller hosting and offering special discounts etc (by the way if anyone knows of somewhere proven and decent that offers free reseller hosting/domain/etc packages let me know)...

EDIT: Autumn - Are you by any chance from NZ?
