Does anyone think selling an ecig at the fleamarket is a good idea?

The only setback I can see is that most people go to flea markets looking for a bargain. An initial E-Cig kit can cost anywhere between $50 to $100 which is a rather high ticket price. Plus, you would have to prove to people that you can always get the refill cartridges any time they need them. I don't mean to discourage you, but probably having a small kiosk at a mall would work better. That's just my take on the subject.

    i'll buy it!!!!

but honestly, I have to agree with wiz - I think you're aiming for the wrong audience.
why don't you operate as a wholesaler?

As far as doing it in a mall, you would need to believe in the product enough to take the financial risk. The first thing I would do is research the other stores in the mall to see if I had competition. If there is no competition or if you can sell at a cheaper price than the existing competition in the mall, you have a good shot at making sales and doing well.

Find an investor and JV with him. Use OPM (Other People's Money). No need for you to take the risk. It's not that hard to find someone with a fat wallet who is looking for something cool to invest in. You just need to be creatively convincing.

I don't know about a flea market but I would not aim there for this product.. I have seen several kiosks at malls and thye were always busy.

    Just my observations.

Personally I'd consider calling around to every tobacco store in a 30 mile radius of where you are and seeing if they would be interested in stocking them for you. You can put in the time to find the buyers that way rather than putting up the money for a mall kiosk.

If you give the flea market a shot, I would also invest in some business cards or fliers and a website with an affiliate or two for the refills. Set up a basic page where you sell the kits and the refills online as well.

Not to stereotype, but I think the flea market might be a good target audience. If you stress the value of using the ecigs to "cut down" and figure out the cost of them versus the cost of cigs (which are f***ing expensive these days, even the generics), you might be able to dumb it down enough for the target audience.

Plus you might drive some traffic to your site and gain some "repeat" business that is a mix of online and offline in origin. Some could be first-time buyers of the system itself who got your card or flier at the flea market, others could be buyers from the flea market once they need refills (which they will need lol).

The flea market has nice low-startup costs, and while I agree that the kiosks at the malls are usually busy, often they it's because they are staffed by attractive, flirtatious twenty-something's who are coming onto their target audience. I'm not implying that you or anyone else on this thread is not an attractive, flirtatious twenty-something, just saying....

A device that looks like a cigarette but instead of burning the tabacco it is vaporized, and when you inhale you get a vapor instead of a smoke
    much safer for your health
    odorless
    attractive
    portable
    etc

plus you can "smoke" them in places where real cigarettes cannot legally be smoked (that's the hype any way, haven't seen anyone doing that yet myself).

It's funny as hell how they say you can smoke them on airplanes. I'd love to see you get that onto a plane. :p
