1. Does any of you still uses blogroll links to rank or are these links a big no-no after Penguin?

2. I still pay for my blogroll links that I bought for my old website which got hit by the unnatural-link-penalty. Is it better to remove these links or keep them on and wait until the penalty's gone?

Thanks!

A site with no blogroll links is not natural. Most "normal" sites have a blogroll so most decent sites are in someone else's blogroll. I'm still using them. If you're worried about them, take down the ones that are obviously bought. Personally I wouldn't take down any unless they were done stupidly in the first place.

i sell private network blogroll links. I only allow 3x sites max now-a-days on my sites

Do Not use sites that have high OBL nor sites part of a large network selling . Google is cracking down on large networks hard!

Drop them. In my opinion they are a thing of the past now. Sitewide/blogroll links are an easy google target and if they make up a large portion of your total link pool or a given site, then they might do more harm than good.

My first blog I ever made, 4 years old didn't have any new content on it for past year, most of backlinks are from blogroll exchange. Still site is at PR3, still getting the same amount of traffic - 500+ per day. If blogroll exchange links are with relevant sites which are running for similar keywords and niche, I think they are still relevant.
