Does anyone recruit their own writers (not through a freelance website)?

I'm just curious if anyone else recruits writers using their own website (via link building, forum posting, etc) to find writers. I did this a while ago but at the time wasn't fully commmitted to hiring people so I stopped. Now that I'm at it again, I had been posting on freelance websites, odesk.com, freelancer.com but it seems the supply of decent writers on these sites is drying up (I want to find a lot, like at least 8 writers to start and more after that since i have a lot of projects). I've found good programmers on these freelance sites but the writers are giving me back crap samples that don't pass copyscape, after I ask them to write an initial sample on a topic i give them, I even provide articles for them to re-write based off of.. I've done this practice myself many times, re-writing articles, so i have no doubt that it can be done to pass copyscape

I can give you a nice idea but it depends on what you want to do. This is for blogging. You can search for free site on blogger or the free version of wordpress and see who is writing on you niche topic. Then offer them a free domain and free hosting (if you have a resellers account) and they will write everything for free. Just make things clear that they can use the and write their stuff and promote it but you will control the adds. You pay for the "monthly bill" and they get a free premium site :) but you get paid for the ads.

    Hi

I would be interested dependant on no. & frequency of articles required and payment offered. I am an accredited writer with Ezine articles and other directories, plus of course do the content for my own blogs and since English is my only language, punctuation, grammar, fluency of expression etc isn't exactly a problem.

LOL, thats a pretty good idea, I'd be willing to pay them some, ok well I'm going to create a bot to troll through Philippines and Indian blogs and mass contact them :) I'm sick of dealing what are mostly ass wipes on the freelance sites, most of whom can't even but a logical sentence together, forget even having proper grammar, yet they are applying as writers... although I have found some people who are decent but it takes going through so many, anyways thanks, I like this approach.
