I have an idea, but I need to know if there are any free sms sending services that allow you to send an sms from a computer to cell phones.

search for cbfsms for UK only. It's what i use.

search sendsmsnow for US.

Or are you looking to replicate the service on your site?

I used to use Yahoo Messenger to send SMS messages from a program I had awhile back. Worth looking into depending on your needs.
 
Thanks guys. Yep, I wanted to ad a sms service to my site. Thanks for the heads up on Yahoo Messenger, I didn't know you could text for free on that :)
 
Is there a catch? like the recipient has to spend money or something?

yeah, i would love to have that little program if you know where i can get it
 
I just looked up Yahoo messenger and apparently you can just send texts from it without a program.
 
You can send texts from Yahoo with a program for sure. I just created a program so texts would be sent out to a list of numbers at a designated time. I'm just an "autopilot" kind of guy lol.
