Does anyone else suffer from laziness in the holidays?

I'm 17 and work part time as a website developer while attending college. For 5 days a week from 9am to 7pm I am working and yet when I get home I can still focus and dedicate hours of time to my personal projects and freelance employment.

Yet, on weekends and in the holidays (now) I seem to be stuck in a cycle of going to sleep, waking up and struggling to get out of bed/get work done. I spend all day watching movies while slowly working through personal projects and browsing related forums (BHW) but I am wasting a lot of time and I am no where near as productive as I am in the weekdays despite having 'all the time in the world'.

Just wondering if any BHW have found a solution to getting out of the lazy cycle? I love what I do but just can't bring myself to get work done.

That sounds like depression, not laziness...

    But, then again, you're 17. So maybe it's just teenager-ness. :)

I used to go though the same thing and not think twice about it. Maybe you're just mentally exhausted and this is your subconscious way of "recovering"?

I'll have to agree. A while back I decided to start jogging, skip all junk food and get a somewhat okey-ish daily routine going.
To avoid sitting up all nights I started reading about lucid dreaming and trying to get into it while trying to sleep, google it. I still haven't made it, but at least I fell to sleep, so I got that going.. :D

Tis the season to be lazy and eat a buncha shit food.

But seriously, this time of year everyone's turning a sort of "psychological corner". Where you realize 2014 is over, and you basically think "fuck this year" and throw the rest down the disposal. Like I do with drinks sometimes. I get down to the bottom where there's a little bit of liquid left, think "fuck this drink" and toss it in the trash. I may have attachment issues not really sure.

Anyway, after New Years passes I basically think "thank god, the holidays are over and summers right around the corner bitches!!!!!". That's usually when I get back on my grind.

Also, don't forget to actually enjoy your free time. This is something most people are terrible at doing. They take a "break" then wind up on the phone for 90 mins having a stressful conversation about their momma cousins husbands lung cancer. That happened to be yesterday. I just got done doing some work, said "fuck this I'm taking a break". Then of course the phone rings, it's my mother crying cause her cousins husband has lung cancer. 90 minutes later I'm bummed the fuck out and didn't wanna do any work, so I didn't.

We all go through different phases and cycles. The key really is not to stress about it. Enjoy it. Let the Holidays pass and if you're still fucking around after Jan 2nd then punch yourself in the face everytime you log on BHW. :)

I think your mind, brain, and body is overworked during the weekdays, and so they try to stay away from work on weekends. They are not getting sufficient breaks away from the concentrated and monotonous work. I would think of it as a kind of ( normal) burnout phenomenon... Either give them sufficient breaks from work on weekdays, or let them stay away from work on weekends.
