I monitor my top 10 keywords daily, and they've been static for the last month or so. Last week as an experiment I got a couple of ad-words coupons and started running a very minimal adwords campaign.

    1) First thing I realized is that now my site and keywords are in front of people. That's a plus right there, even if they don't click. That's free right?
    I'm still learning.

    2) Yesterday I notice that my rank went up by one on 3 of my top 10 keywords. Obviously Google is never going to admit that having an ad-words campaign is going to result in an "unofficial" boost in the rankings, but there it is. And it's happened while I've been watching too.

So, I'm wondering what other people think, and what other people's experiences have been.

Thanks for posting the question. I've often wondered the same thing. Going to try the same experiment over the next couple of weeks...
