Does a strike affect traffic?

My channel (about 3 months old was getting about 2400 views daily. One of the videos was bringing in about 45% of the traffic and 75% of the traffic to that 1 video comes from one country.

From my research, this is so because that country was banned from using the service, so they were mostly searching for solutions.

About 3-4 weeks ago, the ban on the country was lifted and I expected the traffic to drop, but I was surprised the daily traffic went up from 2400 to about 5000 just 2 days after the ban was lifted. Though I didn't check to see if the traffic surge came from that one video.

But the next day, I got a strike for posting a type of video that was banned (teaching how to get paid services for free).

2 days after the strike, the traffic started reducing dramatically the same way it went up.

From 5,000 it went down back to about 2,000 daily very fast and hgs remained there for about 10 days even though I've been posting daily.

Usually, whenever I post, I see a bit of a daily rise in views. But since the drop, it has remained withing 1800 to 2000 daily views.

I want to know if this is a shadow ban.
If it is, will it be lifted 3 months after the strike?

Thanks for taking the time to read.

In my practice strike don't affect traffic, affect a lot traffic if you have monetization and after that you louse it.

We can't know for sure but I think the strike did and does affect your traffic. I am not sure if it will be lifted. YouTube is kind of secretive on these things.

Indeed they do affect traffic. Happened multiple times to me and also some of my friends that ran bigger channels. Reach went about 80-90% down.

For 2 days straignt, I am observing the traffic is returning. from about 2100 daily traffic to about 3100 now.
Hopefully, the worst is over

after any penalization from youtube traffic gets reduced, I won't say a shadow ban because you still have traffic and a decent ammount I see it like a this is a little punishment for you to me a shadow ban is when your account go from your average views to always have around 20 views this is my perception of a shadow ban, but you can still recover just continue uploading and be careful at some point your account should go back to normal.
