My site was suspended temporarily due to high traffic. I installed W3 total cache (as recomended by my hosting) and now my site is back up.

It was only down for like 7-8 hours with a 404 forbidden access page. Now my main ranking has dissapeared which fucking sucks. Anyone EXPERIENCED know if my rankings will return?

If this doesn't happen often then your website should return to its normal position soon but if your website keeps going down all the time then google will send you to the last page permanently.

I've had a couple shared hosting accounts and a vps suspended for sending too much traffic. But what bugs me is that it was a gradual increase in traffic, they could have sent me a warning, some hosts will do that. Thankfully it's all solved now by getting a few dedi's.

Point is, I've had site suspension downtimes from 8 hours to 3 days. During downtime I would check my keywords, and I was always in the same exact #1-3 spots.

I had quality backlinks to these sites, and lots of content. So maybe I had a few strikes against me when G bot visited and got errors, but it wasn't enough to knock me down. Only 1 site did I see suffer de-ranking, but that might have been unrelated.
