an average person lies often, sometimes just to please others, sometimes to avoid an uncomfortable situation. i have had my fair share of white lies. it has only slowed me down. Your life becomes a constant loop of pretending to be someone you're not. Pretending to conform to the idea of what others think how you should be. Tell them who you really are. You will be much closer to your dreams if you adopt an approach of radical honesty in life. I am still learning the ropes. I grew up in a family and culture where there was script laid out for me, deviation from the script meant gravely dissappointing the people you love. I didn't have a secret that I hid, I just hid what my idea of life was. I thought I could follow the script and still be free. You cannot. I know it won't sound like a big deal in people who grew up in comparatively more liberal or affluent households, but I can only speak from my experience. It is okay to dissappoint people if that is what is going to happen as a result of your honesty. It will rescue your dreams and above all it will rescue you from the pangs of life. Please, do yourself a favor, next time someobody asks you a question, tell them the truth. Only good things will come out of it in the long run.
