It might as well be.

Expired domains are treated little differently now after the Spam update. It specifically targeted them.

From my experience, sandbox is lack of trust and time.

Many times simply waiting does the trick. I see it with PBN units all the time.

You can also build some trustworthy links or social presence to get the trust going and potentiality reduce the sandbox.

Thank you so much for suggestions ❤️

Why did you buy the expired domain?

Age is not a huge signal but rank history matters more. The only reason to buy the domain is for possible referring domains and especially if the content of the website matches your niche. Audit your domain profile. Check the backlink history and relevance. If there are any spammy and low-quality links from previous history, remove them. Sometimes low-quality content may affect your site. Update unique articles regularly and build links from authoritative niche-related sites and social platforms to get some attention and link juice.

Newly bought expired domains will take some time to appear in Google. Check the domain’s history and the quality of its previous backlinks. Disavow if any links irrelavant. Make sure your content is well-written and user intent. Check your website loading speed and it should be mobile friendly.

It’s normal for an expired domain to take a while to rank steadily, especially if it had issues in the past or lost good backlinks. Make sure your new content fits the domain's old niche, and keep building quality links.
