Does it help? Btw, I do Micro niche sites, so just wondering if it would help my sites rankings or be counter-productive?

    what has your experience been?

I've done it for my site and I believe it definitely helped me get the vast majority of my pages indexed. Just my two cents.

I always add my sites to Webmaster tools unless they're just part of a cluster used for indexing / linking and the content might not be that great and I really don't want the search engines knowing anything about them - no analytics either.

I submit all my sites to Google Webmaster Tools.

Granted I work with corporate websites so there's nothing I need to "hide", but I think some of the features are essential if your a data junkie like myself.

The tool I use most often is the "Search Engine Visibility" chart (not the actual name I think), which basically graphs out how many impressions your site is getting in google, as well as how many of those impressions led to clicks.

I've actually used this run some A/B split tests on my Meta descriptions to see which converts traffic better.

Also sites that have been verified get indexed and crawled almost hourly. Within a few minutes of adding a new blog post I can find it in google.
